由高考题看 “Way ” 的用法

2003年全国高考英语试题第35题考查了 “way” 短语的用法。

---I think you should phone Jenny and say sorry to her.

---______. It was her fault.

A. No way B. Not possible C. No chance D. Not at all

本题很多同学选了答案B ，其实 B 不符合英美口语表达习惯。 A 为正确答案。 “No way” 意为“决不”，“没门”，用在口语中。如：

---Give up your tea break?

---No way!

（一）No way In no way Only in this way放句首，主句谓语动词使用部分倒装。如：

No way will I go on working for that man.

我决不再给那个人工作了。

In no way will you go to the café.

你决不能再去网吧了。

Only in this way can you finish the work.

只有通过这种方式你才能完成这种工作。

（二）与 “way” 有关的名词短语，介词短语。

1． in no way 怎样也不，一点也不。

We can in no way allow this to continue.

我们决不允许这种情况继续下去。

2． in a way从某种程度上

In a way he is right.

3． all the way/ the whole way 一路上，一直地

The children are talking and laughing all the way.

4． bn the way to 在去 … 的路上

5． by the way 顺便问一下，在途中

6． by way of路径某处，途经；作为，当作

We went to London by way of Paris.

Let’s eat out tonight by way of a change.

咱们今天到外面去吃饭吧，换换口味。

7． in a big/small way 大/小规模，盛大地/简朴地

They have started planting trees in a big way.

The Smiths spent their Christmas in a small way.

8． in any/every way在任何方面/在各方面，以各种方式

9． in some ways/in many ways 在某些方面，在某种程度上，以某种方式/在很多方面

10． in/out of the way 挡道，碍事/不挡道，不碍事

Her social life got in the way of her studies.

她的社交生活妨碍了她的学习。

11． under way在进行中，在前进途中

The project is now well under way.

这一项目现正顺利进行。

12． in a bad way 病得很重，情形很糟

13． in……way 以… 的方式

They talked in a friendly way.

（三）与 “way” 有关的动词短语

1 lose one’s way 迷路

2． lead the way带路，引路

3． make one’s way to/ towards sth行进，前进；有所成就

4． push one’s way 推开别人前进

5． (not) stand in sb’s way（不）阻止某人做某事

6． feel one’s way 摸索着走（干），试探

7． give way (to sb/ sth)断裂，倒塌（向某人/某事物让步，妥协）

8． have/get/go one’s way 独立的或按自己的意愿行事（尤指不听人劝）

9． get into/out of the way of doing sth培养/失去做某师的习惯

10． have a long way to go还要走很远的路，还要做很大努力

11． pave the way for(to) 为 … 铺平道路，为… 创造条件

12． wind one’s way曲折前进
